This device operates horizontally and measures non-woven fabrics, which have a rate of compressibility inferior or equal to 20%.

The sample is measured between a reference plate of 10cm² and a foot presser of 25cm² with an applied pressure of 0.02kPa. The originality of this method lies in the use of a counter-weight for horizontal usage.

The range of this measuring device is from 20mm with an accuracy of 0.01mm. The samples must have set dimensions of 150mm (±5) by 80mm (±5).
