A new module Creating methods is being developed in our design office.

As the name suggests, this module will enable our customers to set up step by step all the features related to mechanical tests on Dynatech.

1/ PLANNED FEATURES

We have drawn up a set of specifications containing as many functions as possible so that all test configurations are feasible.

At this point, the new DYNATECH software module will allow:

- the system of units and the default units used (SI or USC);

- the display of the graphs: titles, units and axis scales;

- details concerning the identification, shape, cross-section and dimensions of the specimens (rectangular, tubular, etc.);

- setting preconditions, end-of-test conditions and backup parameters;

- the sensors (force, displacement, temperatures) and the attachments/accessories used;

- the characteristic points to be analyzed, ie the treatments to be applied to the curves at the end of the test: calculation of areas / slopes / averages, detection of thresholds / extrumum, etc.

2/ NORMATIVE DATABASE

Furthermore, this module will allow the establishment of a database containing pre-filled methods corresponding to material characterization standards. Thus, users of our software will gain a considerable time before each test campaign.

Initially, the database will bring together the main standards of mechanical characterization of polymers and composite materials, films and sheets and textiles.

This database will be enriched progressively with time and according to the specific needs of our customers.

3/ DATE OF COMMISSIONING

The development of our software is expected to continue in the coming months with commissioning scheduled for the end of 2017.
