After several months of research, Matériau Ingénierie is proud to offer the new Mace Snagging Tester. This new version, available in 2 or 4 stations, respects our policy of overhauling the SODEMAT range of devices with a focus on ergonomics and user safety.
Regarding the innovations in this new version, we can mention:
- A shock-resistant polycarbonate housing with a magnetic switch on the door that cuts the test when opening, ensuring user safety;
- Simply removable sample holders, making it possible to shorten the step of drying the felt (passing in an oven at 70 ° C);
- Supports to keep spike balls neatly and securely;
- An adjustment gauge of the [spiked ball/guide axis] distance;
- A vertical configuration, saving space for the 4-station model.

This new stage in the development of Material Engineering was the opportunity to invest in spaces (calibration laboratory, testing laboratory) for the reception and training of technicians and technical managers in optimal conditions.
As such, we recently had the pleasure of receiving employees from several Ashland Group sites: Kehl in Germany, Porvoo in Finland and in France Pujaut. This visit was the opportunity to train these people to different types of rheological test (gel time, crosslinking) using a RheotechTR and to discuss the specific needs related to standards and internal methods used by Ashland. These discussions have also led to the development of new accessories and new software options (see our article on the latest development of RheotechTR).
