Biomaterials are playing an increasingly important role in our lives every day. Their main characteristic is their ability to biodegrade in the environment. However, depending on the materials used, the biodegradability may have more or less quick.
The standardized methods for monitoring the biodegradability are now widespread, but has the disadvantage of being non-reproducible as the inoculum source. The Luminotech is an instrument that has been developed to use a method developed by Yelen and aims to determine the kinetics of biodegradation of polymers and composites by immersing them in an enzyme bath whose composition is controlled.
